World Toilet Day: Improving Sanitation

To mark World Toilet Day 2015 on 19th November, Roca hosted a seminar at the Roca London Gallery in collaboration with the We Are Water Foundation and Blueprint Magazine.

A panel of experts were invited to discuss the global sanitation crisis, the results of which feature in the November/December issue of Blueprint Magazine and online here.

Joining Blueprint editor Johnny Tucker for the discussion were Peter Clegg (founding partner of Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios), Jordi Corral (Innovation Lab project manager at Roca), Robin Cross (managing director of Article 25), Carlos Garriga (project manager of the We Are Water Foundation), Barbara Penner (senior lecturer in Architectural History, UCL), Professor M. Sohail Khan (Professor of Sustainable Infrastructure at Loughborough University) and Danny Willis (Chair of Architecture and Urban Design at ETH Zurich).

The panel was able to weigh in on the challenge of providing clean, healthy, accessible and affordable sanitation to 2,400 million across the globe without access to basic sanitation, and discuss possible solutions from an architectural perspective.
