ELIA Headquarters (Spain)

When ELIA took charge of renovating their own office spaces in late 2025, the international architecture firm sought to design an open, flexible environment that would facilitate a new way of working.

Elia (Enterprise for Large International Architecture) is an architecture studio created from the success of OAB, to further develop ideas around architecture, design, tech and sustainability. It was important that its offices reflect this interdisciplinary vision. Comfortable, engaging and functional spaces encourage conversation and collaboration along with quiet, thoughtful places to focus and work. An essential part of this project were the office bathrooms, which Elia designed as modern, energizing spaces using a range of Roca products and accessories that continue the office’s cohesive, visually strong and sophisticated message.

Designed by and for architects, ELIAS’s offices exude a clean, streamlined aesthetic, with essential details ensuring functionality and a sense of conviviality. Located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, the office consists of three main areas: the central hall, where the core workstations and reference library are situated, the public space to welcome visitors, as well as communal spaces such as the kitchen and dining areas, and the Elia Lab, where laser cutting machines, 3D printers and a robotic arm are part of the experimental workshop and laboratory. Each area is distinctly designed in tune with its role, yet they are connected as part of a single spatial experience.

Ona’s black basin faucets in matt black plays off of the red or green walls, its curving form a balance to the rectangular Tura over countertop basin and stacked form of the Tura base unit with one drawer. Elia selected Roca products that tie into their vision of dynamic and inspiring interiors, as well as for their assurance of providing comfort and longevity. Ona’s wall-hung toilets complement the open, contemporary design of the employee bathrooms, at the same time, it offers reliability, easy cleaning and maintenance.

In the public bathroom, Ona’s back-to-wall toilet provides accessible comfort for different users. Elia selected the Tenue base unit with two-drawers for its smooth, streamlined design that integrates into the sophisticated, darkened space. Tenue’s voluminous unik basin in black and Ona matt black faucet are perfect products to complete the bold black and white design of the space.

When you are working collectively in an office, the bathroom provides a rare moment of calm in the day. When done right, the office bathroom can be a space to take a moment of personal reflection, regroup, and refresh.

The circular and oval shape and soft, warm backlighting of Luna Ambient mirror was an ideal way to create a relaxed mood in all three bathrooms. The mirror softens the space and complements the rounded accessories that finish off the design. Elia selected accessories in black finish, continuing the strong colour theme with wall-mounted versions, including PL10 dual flush plates, aligning with their clean, architectural style; Tempo wall-mounted soap dispensers, wall-mounted toilet roll holder and circular wall-mounted hooks in titanium black in the employee bathrooms, and Allegro wall-mounted soap dispenser and Hotels Round in the public bathroom.

The office is like a second home for many people and Elia has designed a space to make people feel at ease. Roca products selected for the Elia office project enhance the contemporary aesthetic of the workplace while reinforcing the importance of comfort and versatility.
