From your soft close toilet seat, to your shower hose. Find out how to find the right spare part for your bathroom

Maintaining your bathroom is easier than you think with Roca’s spare parts, from replacing a shower hose to fixing toilet flush buttons and toilet seats

If your bathroom has seen better days but isn’t in need of a complete overhaul, then a few small fixes could be all that’s needed to keep it in top condition, whether you need a new toilet flush button, shower hose or soft close toilet seat. Here’s how easy it is to do, so get ready to tick those tasks off your to-do list…

Keeping sustainability in mind

The key to sustainability is initially making wise choices, choosing a durable product that’s made to last, that works efficiently, and importantly creates an aesthetic you will still enjoy in the future. But things do inevitably get worn when they are frequently used and maintenance is essential in ensuring your bathroom continues to work to its full potential. In order to keep the environment in mind it’s good to recognise exactly what needs fixing and evaluate whether that means replacing a whole shower for example, or whether all you really need is just a shower hose, or perhaps it’s a toilet flush button to update a cistern. Even new hinges rather than entire toilet seats. By going for a spare part instead of a new product there will be no unnecessary rubbish going to landfill, less waste made from production and reduced transportation.

How to identify what you need

The thought of figuring out what it is you need can often mean the task keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the to-do list, but Roca’s online spare part search couldn’t make it any easier. Whether you need a soft close toilet seat or a toilet flush button, you can find the spare part you need and buy it online here. If you still have the paperwork from your bathroom purchase you will find the product reference code there. Otherwise you can search by product type, for example ‘toilet seats’, which takes you to each of Roca’s collections, with easy to identify images of each seat and cover, such as The Gap soft close toilet seat. There you will find a list of available spare parts to purchase. Most replacement items such as a shower hose can be bought directly from the website.

Smarten up the shower

Wear and tear and limescale build-up can eventually leave items in your shower such as a hand shower or shower hose, looking shabby, but a few simple swaps can give it its sparkle back in no time at all. Shower products such as Sensum can be bought in parts, so if a section becomes tired or broken, it’s easy to replace just that part. For example you could just replace the shower slide bar, or the hand shower. Likewise, Stella has a selection of hand showers, both round and stick designs, with a variety of functions like Rain, Tonic and Pulse flows. Or maybe your shower hose has sprung a leak or has become grimy – this is a super simple fix that will instantly breathe new life into your shower and is as easy as unscrewing the old part, being sure to not lose the washer, and screwing the new hose into place.

Rejuvenate the WC

Sometimes simply replacing the smallest of parts enables your toilet to work efficiently once again. A toilet flush button that is no longer working can easily be replaced, as can cistern mechanisms, meaning your toilet can be made more economical without the need for an entirely new cistern. You could even fit Roca’s EM1 mechanism for automatic touchless flushing, which is compatible with most cisterns with a 40mm cistern hole and an external cistern height (with cistern lid) of 360-390mm.

But more often than not it’s toilet seats or the hinges and fixings that need replacing before anything else, which is easy to do, even if DIY isn’t your thing. Some of the newer collections from Roca, such as Ona, have quick release hinges, making changing toilet seats incredibly simple, so in years to come when you might want to update the seat, it’s a task that literally takes minutes. Even on Roca’s other collections, the standard and soft close toilet seat hinges can be changed in under 30 minutes. Find out how easy it is here.
